SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
The CFIC Board of Directors and Scholarship Committee is proud to kick off the Everett and Trudy Suddreth Scholarships of Excellence for the 20098 - 2010 academic year!
NEW this year the CFIC Board of Directors has increase the number of scholarships awarded from 25 to 30! The amount of each scholarship remains at $1,000.

2009 CFIC Scholarship Posters are available to explain the scholarship eligibility requirements.
You may choose to display this poster in your business breakroom to allow eligible employees to be able to take advantage of this membership benefit.
Who is Eligible
-
Children of permanent, full-time employees, who have been employed (as of 1/1/09) by a Retail, Wholesale or Supplier Member Firm for at least one year .
OR
Students who are themselves part-time employees and have been employed (as of 1/1/09) by a Retail, Wholesaler or Supplier Member Firm for at least six-months .
NOTE: The food industry employee (whether a parent or student) must work at a retail, wholesale or vendor location in North or South Carolina only, and must be employed at the time the winners are selected, but qualified scholarship recipients may attend a college located in any state.
CFIC encourages past CFIC scholarship recipients to apply for a scholarship for the 2008 year.
Extra weight will be given to students currently employed in the grocery industry or enrolled in an accredited food industry undergraduate curriculum.

Deadlines
Scholarship Applications must be post-marked and received in the CFIC office no later than April 1.
Winners will be selected by a panel of educators and notified in June.
Winners must be enrolled in college the fall of 2009 AND the scholarship award of $1,000 will be made out to the college and mailed to the scholarship winner who must deliver it to the appropriate office within his college.
