Grocery Retailer Emergency Disaster Passes

Registration is now open! CFIC staff has been meeting with the Department of Emergency Management to improve the Emergency Disaster system, making revisions to the application process for passes allowing trucks, store managers and critical store personnel access to a store following an emergency/disaster.

Any grocery retailer registering for a pass will be provided with a password and be afforded access to North Carolina Emergency Management Division's WEB EOC and the opportunity to view all of the agency's emergency/disaster information in real time.

Income Tax Information

Below are the three documents that can help any employer (chain or independent with operations in any state) to look like a hero to his employees!

Full or part-time employees are most likely unaware of how they could benefit from the Earned Income Tax Credit, by which some employees can receive more than $5,000 from the federal government; a program that is severely underutilized!   The first document explains in laymen's language what the employer and the employee need to know including:

who qualifies and
where to find additional information. 

The other two attachments are posters (English and Spanish) that employers can print out to include with employee pay stubs, and also post in the employee break room.

Several member companies have asked us to provide information on how to determine if their federal and state labor law posters are current, as well as information on other signs that under North Carolina state law require the posting of a specific sign (example:  No Smoking sign required for any retailer who has a prepared food permit).
