2006 October Golf Tournament & Silent Auction

The CFIC Board of Directors has changed the annual golf outing to a one-day event. You can now bid on the Silent Auction items either early in the morning or during the first half of the evening reception. You will have an opportunity to bid on personal contributions donated by officers of many of the retail grocers in North and South Carolina.

If you have any items that you would like to donate for this auction, please complete the "Silent Auction Donation Form" and fax to CFIC staff at (919) 832-0812.

Again this year we will have a Live Auction to place two items in distribution at each participating retailer. Each item placed will be at the discretion of the highest bidder.

Important Hotel Information: Hotel accommodations are available at Holiday Inn Express located at 104 10th Street N.W., Conover (couple of miles from Rock Barn Golf & Spa). If you need to make hotel reservations contact the Holiday Inn Express directly at

Continental Breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m.

Presidents' Presentations, 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. - Rock Barn Golf Resort
Retailers from each of the major retail corporations will utilize separate rooms and each individual corporate CEO will take 35 minutes to present "What is on the drawing board for the next 12-18 months" in his respective organizations. Beginning promptly at 9:00 a.m. suppliers may choose to attend any one of the presentations. Each presentation will be repeated three times so that suppliers may attend more than one presentation.

Silent Auction open from 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and reopens from 5:30-8:00 p.m. The Live Auction (this year for two items) opens at 7:30 p.m.

CFIC's Annual Golf Tournament/Fundraiser - 1:00 p.m. Shotgun Start -- We are pleased again to hold our annual golf event. This event will provide you the opportunity to play with key retailers and category managers, and then to mix afterwards with all participants.

The fee for 2006 remains at $5,000 a foursome. The foursome will consist of three players from the sponsoring supplier plus a retailer or category manager of your choice. Pairings will be: first come, first serve. Play is on two courses at the Rock Barn Golf Resort in Hickory; indicate your preference. Individual player options available at $1,250.

Pairing selection will not take place until registration payment is received. (Payment is due no later than September 15th) Sign up deadline is also Friday, September 15th.

Format will be Captain's Choice with a Shotgun Start at 1:00 p.m. Each player will receive a premium upon registration, this year's premium is a $125 Callaway Gift Card. Lunch will be provided, beverages on the course.

Prizes will be awarded for first through fifth place on each course. Prizes for each member of the winning team, on each course, are as follows:

• 1st Place: Complete set of Ping G5 Clubs and Ping Bag
• 2nd Place: Ping G5 complete set of irons (4-9, PW, SW) rifle steel shafts
• 3rd Place: G5i Craz-E-Putter
• 4th Place: Ping Golf Travel Cover
• 5th Place: Ping Split Roller Suitcase
• Hole-in-One Contests: A New Car!
• All Par 3's Closest to the Pin: $200 Rock Barn Gift Certificate
• All Par 5's Longest Drive: $200 Rock Barn Gift Certificate

Following golf: 5:30 pm Reception, heavy hors d'oeuvres, open bar.

To receive a golf registration/contract a supplier may choose to contact the retailer that he purchased from last year. From Interstate 40, Exit 133 - Rock Barn Road.
From Interstate 40 Eastbound, Left onto Rock Barn Road.
From Interstate 40 Westbound, Right onto Rock Barn Road.
Continue on Rock Barn Road for 1.5 miles. There is a small y-split, stay to the right.
Turn Left at Entrance, Golf Drive.
