ABOUT CFIC
Previously the North Carolina Food Dealers Association (NCFDA) represented the interests of retail and wholesale food distributors in North Carolina. There was also a similar organization in South Carolina, but it dissolved more than a decade ago. In the fall of 2004, NCFDA merged with the North Carolina Retail Merchants Association (NCRMA) and a new organization representing food dealers in both North and South Carolina was born – the Carolinas Food Industry Council (CFIC). The two organizations have a combined history of over 150 years, and serve more than 25,000 retailers and 2,500 food dealers in the Carolinas.
CFIC is a division of NCRMA and elects its own board of directors, controls its own budget, has a full-time staff and is represented on NCRMA’s Executive Committee, Finance Committee, and Legislative Committee. Under CFIC’s guidance food dealers will continue to hold their annual trade show and convention and will maintain all of the old programs as well as many new programs and services. The Council is headquartered in the Raleigh office of NCRMA.
CFIC’s Board of Directors plays an active role in guiding the Council’s direction along with the assistance of committees. Click below to find out more about Council leadership and opportunities to participate on committees.
